If it’s your first time renting a motorbike in Bali—especially a Yamaha NMAX—you might be confused when you see that the keyhole is suddenly closed. Some tourists even get stressed out thinking the bike is broken or the key doesn’t work.
But actually, the covered keyhole is a built-in security feature called a shutter key lock. It’s designed to protect the ignition from theft or tampering. So no worries—your motorbike isn’t broken. It’s just protected!
So, how do you open it?
Super easy! Take a look at the back of the key we gave you.

You’ll notice a small round magnetic tip—that’s what you use to open the shutter. Just align it with the cover, give it a gentle twist, and the keyhole will open right up.
If the shutter closed accidentally when you turned off the ignition, don’t try to force it open with something else. Just use the back of the key as shown—it’s made for that purpose.
